The Vermillion Literary Project (VLP) is hosting its next reading and slam on Thursday, October 31, 7 p.m. at Raziel’s in downtown Vermillion, featuring Minneapolis writer MATT MAUCH as our guest slammaster. Costumes are encouraged!
Matt Mauch is the author of If You’re Lucky Is a Theory of Mine (Trio House) and Prayer Book (Lowbrow). He hosts the annual Great Twin Cities Poetry Read and edits Poetry City, USA, an annual collection of poetry and prose on poetry. A Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant recipient, Mauch teaches in the AFA program at Normandale Community College, and lives in Minneapolis.
Matt’s reading will be followed by a slam open to anyone. Slam poets should bring three original poems. Prizes will be awarded. A signup sheet to slam will be available beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Matt will also be a presenter at the John R. Milton Writers Conference, October 31 – November 2, which opens with Thursday night’s reading and slam. The VLP is an award-winning literary and creative writing student organization at USD, which hosts literary events throughout the academic year.
